The shed blood of Jesus Christ is a powerful gift given for the believer, and offers great benefits and provisions for us as we navigate the vicissitudes of life. Jesus offered His blood once as the ultimate sacrifice and this blood is efficacious in many ways atoning for our sins before God and bringing forgiveness, deliverance, healing, protection and restoration in our lives.
Let' s recall how the blood of a lamb shielded God's children from His wrath and offered salvation from death for all households whose doorposts were sprinkled with the blood of the passover lamb:
'Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.' (Exodus 12:13).
The crimson flow of the blood concealed through the Old Testament was preparing to declare the sacrifice and salvific work of Jesus Christ as the perfect Passover Lamb as revealed in the New Testament. Now this blood is the basis of the new covenant brining us the Good News that Jesus' blood was shed to give unlimited pardon for all who receive His free gift of salvation. This blood is poured out as a drink and His flesh as bread so we can have communion with Him and also have assurance of eternal life (Luke 22:20).
The blood of Jesus Christ is also a potent weapon against spiritual wickedness in high places and can be applied as a major armoury in spiritual warfare. By its supernatural power, it can flush out inherited or self-acquired evil deposits that are fashioned against us. It can spiritually transform our lives making all that is old, new and restored.
Today, through prayer and by faith we can activate the power of the happenings at the cross by pleading and sprinkling the blood of Jesus over everything that concerns us. We can live under the blood's perpetual covering in all areas of our lives, health and wellbeing. We know that the enemy (the devil and his cohorts), prowls around all the time with an agenda to steal, kill and to destroy. But as children of God, we have authority over this contrary plan. Through the blood of Jesus, we can overcome the fiery darts of and demonic attacks from the enemy. We can walk in victory over this aggressive battle through the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
As you set time aside to meditate on God's word, you can develop your own biblically sound confessions, using the blood of Jesus as a weapon in offensive prayer against the wiles of the enemy.
Here are some powerful confessions you can declare over yourself, your health, your loved ones, your church and your communities using the blood of Jesus Christ:
I stand on the blood of Jesus to declare victory over sin, in all its forms.
I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God, through the blood of Jesus Christ, His Beloved Son.
I come against all the devices of satan and his demonic agents militating in this world with the blood of Jesus.
I apply the blood of Jesus to destroy every ancestral and generational curses, sicknesses, diseases and negative life patterns. I decree that as I bear the mark of the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed and delivered from all of them.
I plead the blood of Jesus upon my entire body; from the top of my head to the sole of my feet.
Through the blood of Jesus, I renounce all evil diseases and pestilences from mine and my family’s lives.
I stand upon the Word of God and I declare divine protection over my family in the name of Jesus.
Let every door that I have knowingly or unknowingly opened to the enemy be closed forever with the blood of Jesus.
I soak my whole life in the blood of Jesus. I have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the power of my testimony, in Jesus' name.
I use the blood of Jesus as a bloodline covering around my community, my household, the boundaries of my properties and my possessions.
Lord, I plead your blood over the nations, cities, the community at large and against all wars and destructions against them in all its forms.
Lord may you revive and build your church and may your purposes be established through it, in Jesus' name, amen.
Beloved, be encouraged.
