Poolside

Beside Bethesda

Waiting for the water to disturb

Prostrate, I remain unperturbed.

Even though it sounds absurd

Expecting someone to turn up and help me in

Healing my heart

Cleansing my skin.

A new start

Taking me back to baby skin

Where I was fresh and healthy

Full of vitality, credibility.

Looking Jesus in the eye, I ask

"Who me! Why? Why me?"

He replies "You matter, You matter to me!"

Even paralysed on a mattress

I have known you before you were born

I come to you now broken and worn

To mend, fix, and heal all that's gone wrong.

Make you well in heart, mind and soul

Taking you back unto me

To where you were first formed

Born again

Whole.
