Our Little Offering

Few comprehend the meaning of what holy living is

That greatest of necessities in such a time as this

Assuming they know something of what God expects of them

They put but little focus on what makes them more like Him

For many think that living in a holiness of mind

Above the common people who are not of their same kind

Is what's to be expected of the children of the King

When of a fact there's nothing in their lives they're offering

In service to their Master that can make them worthy of

A mansion in His Kingdom that is waiting up above

Where Christ said He was going to prepare a place for them

Who lived a life of holiness that replicated Him

That life He lived in service to His passion for mankind

That made the lame to walk again and gave sight to the blind

That strengthened all the feeble that He met along the way

As He sought those most needful of the things He had to say

That gave to them encouragement to walk the narrow path

Though often tried and tempted by the devil through his wrath

As he counts as his enemies the precious and the few

Who choose to follow Jesus Christ and do as He would do

Not seeking to be hermits but to be the lights of men

Who draw them to the Saviour Who has overcome all sin

And offers by His mighty grace the vict'ry just like His

So needed by His precious ones in such a time as this

And also laying ground work through their sacrificial means

That serves as a foundation in the world's last closing scenes

When only those who truly live a holy attitude

Will be expressing all their love for God in plenitude

By laying on the altar all they have and have become

Since coming to their Saviour from the past that they've come from

Into the living Presence of the One Who loves us most

And pours out in abundance through His mighty Holy Ghost

Who takes our little offering and expands it far beyond

What we in our conception ever planned or thought upon

To make us truly holy in the presence of our King

Who multiplies our little to encompass everything

Deuteronomy 28:1-13; Matthew 19-16-26
