In a vision, late one day,
I saw myself, as a pup,
looking cute, but all around,
just tearing everything up!
I had just one big problem,
a BULLY lived nearby,
he hated me with a passion,
he wished that I would die!
Fear struck in my heart,
when he'd sneak up behind.
Suddenly, snap, snarl and growl.
fright drove me out of my mind!
Then he went far away,
into a distant land.
No more trouble with that BULLY,
this could be just grand!
Though gone for awhile,
one day he came back home.
I saw the BULLY chewing down
upon his favorite bone!
He saw me from the corner
of his one good eye,
the chase was on, once again,
for me, I had to fly!
My Master came out saying,
"HEY, DON'T RUN AWAY SO HARD!
YOU'RE NOT THAT LITTLE PUP, NOW,
YOU'RE A FULL GROWN ST. BERNARD!
SO TURN AND GIVE THAT BULLY,
A CHASING DOWN THE STREET,
AND IF YOU GET UP CLOSE ENOUGH,
TAKE A BITE OUT OF HIS SEAT!
I prayed for understanding,
and was told this by God's Holy One
"THE DEVIL IS THE BULLY, AND HE WANTS TO SEE YOU DONE!
HE USED TO GIVE YOU WHIPPINGS
EVERY PAINFUL, DAY,
AND FINDING HE COULD BEAT YOU,
HE GOT BORED AND WENT AWAY.
THEN HE CAME BACK AGAIN,
TO PUSH YOU AROUND,
BUT WITH JESUS ON YOUR SIDE,
A FULL GROWN ST. BERNARD HE FOUND!
